झारखंड की राजधानी रांची में एक नेशनल चैंपियनशिप इवेंट के दौरान एक बीजेपी सांसद एक पहलवान को थप्पड़ मारते हुए कैमरे में कैद हो गए. भारतीय कुश्ती महासंघ के अध्यक्ष बृजभूषण शरण सिंह को वीडियो में देखा जा सकता है कि वह पहलवान को दो बार थप्पड़ मारते हैं. इसके विरोध में बाकी पहलवानों ने हंगामा खड़ा कर दिया.
रांची के शहीद गणपत राय इंडोर स्टेडियम में अंडर -15 राष्ट्रीय कुश्ती चैंपियनशिप आयोजित की जा रही है. उत्तर प्रदेश की कैसरगंज लोकसभा सीट से सांसद सिंह बतौर मुख्य अतिथि समारोह में पहुंचे थे.
बताया जा रहा है कि ज्यादा उम्र के चलते पहलवान को प्रतियोगिता में भाग लेने की अनुमति नहीं दी गई थी. तकनीकी आधार पर उसे अयोग्य घोषित कर दिया गया था. उस पहलवान ने प्रतियोगिता की टेक्नीकल टीम के सामने पहले आपत्ति दर्ज कराई. जब उसकी आपत्ति खारिज कर दी गयी तो उसने स्टेज पर पहुंचकर भारतीय कुश्ती संघ अध्यक्ष बृजभूषण शरण सिंह से बात करने की कोशिश की. जिसके बाद, वह भाजपा सांसद से आग्रह करता रहा कि उसे अंडर -15 इवेंट में भाग लेने की अनुमति दी जाए. जिसके बाद सांसद ने आपा खो दिया और उसे थप्पड़ मार दिया.
