For the first time in the history Jummah Prayer Suspended in Masjid al Haram and Masjid an Nabawi.

The Saudi Arabian authorities have got the Jummah Prayer suspended as well as entry or other prayers in the courtyards of the two holy mosques in Makkah and Madinah will be banned, Reported by Saudi Press Agency (SPA) on Friday after quoting a spokesperson of General Presidency of the Grand Mosque of Saudi Arabia and Prophet Muhammad PBUH’s mosque in Madinah.

This Jummah Prayer suspended for a temporary basis which was announced by the General Presidency of the Two Holy Mosques to fight against the Coronavirus.

The security and the authority, as well as the Health authorities, have made a decision to cut the presence of people and praying in the outer courtyard of Masjid al-Haram in Makkah and Masjid an Nabawi in Madinah, starting from Friday (March 20, 2020) as a part to curb the Covid-19 spread within the region, General Presidency Spokesperson said on twitter.

The General Presidency of the Prophet’s Mosque and the Grand Mosque have urged the public to abide by the instructions as it is for people’s safety and health of the pilgrims of the holy mosques.

Ulema Council also announced that people should pray Jummah and other prayers in their homes until coronavirus disappears completely.

The spokesperson further elaborated in the statement that the General Presidency is working with the health authorities and security officials to implement precautionary measures for the safety and health of the people to prevent the spread of the deadly Covid-19 virus.

The statement also explained that the awareness of how one can save themselves from coronavirus will eventually lead to the success of the precautionary measures that the security and health officials are taking within Saudi Arabia.
